Today we have lost one of the greatest playwrights of our generation. August Wilson succumbed to cancer at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He was surrounded by his family.
A few weeks ago, when Gilligan died, you would have thought he had actually been America’s sweetheart for the past 30 years. I actually had to do a search for Wilson’s name to find the story about his death. Sad.
UPDATE: The headline just showed up on Yahoo’s homepage.
