While the NYPD is saying they’ve received a credible threat to the subway system, Washington is saying the threat isn’t credible and downplaying the information. You would think that they’ve both seen the same intelligence, one would wonder how they could come up with two such different conclusions. It would be very bad time for Washington to admit a credible threat on the same day the President went on about the progress they’re making against the war on terror. Still, Mayor Bloomberg is saying something much different:
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the threat originated overseas and called it the most specific terrorist threat New York officials had received to date. No one in New York has been arrested or detained, Bloomberg said.
A law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the threat was "specific to place, time and method," and that the method is bombing.
If you’re carrying bags, brief cases, baby strollers and luggage be sure to give yourself time to get searched over the next few days.
Something tells me if this administration was in charge during the Revolutionary War they would have blown the one if by land, two if by sea plan. They probably would have sent Paul Revere out with seven lanterns and a horse with three legs.
We have to wonder if this announcement today has anything to do with the announcement yesterday that four years after 9/11 the city is providing MTA workers with disaster kits.
