Thanks to the internet, at least Mathew Gross, busily keeping up with odd, vanilla, snarky comments made between Amanda Congdon and Atrios, I came across Amanda’s videoblog called Rocketboom. Wow. It’s sad that such decent production value is wasted on such bad talent. Amanda’s interpretation of Tina Fey without the talent or anything else that makes Tina Fey enjoyable to watch is spot on. She sort of reminds you of that girl in high school that no one really liked but who came from the rich family and so always had an elevated self-image of herself.
Sadly, the production of the blog is fairly good, and would love to see someone with talent attempt it, in the meantime, if someone could gag the vapid Congdon and cast her in some soft core porn on Cinemax, that might be a little more up her alley. This woman makes Carrot Top look like the funniest motherfucker alive.
If by chance you’re watching Rocketboom in the midst of a fiery plane crash, death would come as a blessed release.

Want a neat little picture by your comments? Get one here.Hi James, sorry your don’t seem to like Amanda. She’s not liked by everyone. Since a lot of people do seem to like her though, this must make you really great! I’ll bet you are super talented. It’s not clear from looking at your blog, but the way you wrote about it, it seems like you must have a much higher standard.
BTW, I had a hard time finding content on your blog because it seems to only take up about 15% of the space while advertisements take up the other 85%. But this likely means you are very clever too! Nice job.

I’m not even sure what that means. I mean, I am really great, but that’s not dependent on how many people like Amanda.
And as far as 85% of my space being take up by ads that’s ludicrous. I have ads by google on the right sidebar and I just this second put up typepad’s ads on the left side bar (which I’m not even sure I like and may be taking down). So that statement is just absurd.
And hey, that’s my personal opinion. Personally, I found her as funny as a tumor. You don’t have to convince me that “a lot of people like her”. Pauly Shore had an entire fucking career man. Just because “people like you” doesn’t make you talented, and she is not talented.

wait a second, are you trying to prove or disprove my point?
And if you think the amount of ads I have up to try and offset the cost of typepad hosting then you’re pretty sensitive to online advertising. I would hardly consider three different places for text ads, “85%” of the site. That’s just me.

It’s confusing I know. I just wanted to say thanks again for providing us with such high caliber, objective opinions! I’ll be watching to see what more I can learn in the future from reading your blog. Where can I donate?

You might think this is lame, but actually, Amanda is hoping to get hits by becoming the “cam girl for the policy wonk crowd.” Eventually she’ll do live shows where she takes requests — “Talk about the Plamegte scandal!” “Show your opinions on Harriet Miers!”

Yea, but try to think more globally in terms of policy in this scenario.

Drew, are you the fucking riddler?
Constatine, I actually don’t think the idea is lame. I think the concept and the production value are both pretty well done.
I just feel like as far as having “it” to host a show like that, she doesn’t have it. Again, that’s just my opinion. You either have “it” or you don’t. She don’t.

What tides will turn, will turn. And it may very well be that “have it” enjoys a new paradigm, one that can be had from learning and experience, as opposed to the “have it” you are talking about, a lifestyle and perspective much like that of the Hindus where people are born a king, or born an untouchable slave, where no matter what they say do, or learn, they will always be stuck in that caste; much like Paris Hilton is stuck in the caste system that you began this post from with your spew. Most people don’t change very quickly or easily, but some do.
