Certified kook and radical cleric Pat Robertson vowed that God would bring disaster to their town as punishment for voting out school board members who supported the teaching of intelligent design.
"I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster
in your area, don’t turn to God. You just rejected him from your city,"
Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s "700 Club."
Wait a second. Even if they did vote out the morons who favored intelligent design, doesn’t God have to forgive them? Isn’t that the whole point of the religion?
So, I say this to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area (IE, plague, locusts, rivers flowing with blood that sort of thing) ask God for forgiveness and then feel free to turn to him. He has to forgive you. It’s right there in the Bible.
This isn’t the first time Robertson has wished doom upon people. In August, Robertson called for the assassination of Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez.
You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if
he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought
to go ahead and do it.
Something tells me this guy wouldn’t exactly have been in Jesus’ inner circle.
