A forgetful 5th Ave jeweler left a briefcase filled with $350,000 in jewels in the back of a cab in LA. The honest cabbie found a cellphone bill in the briefcase, called up the jeweler and arranged to return the jewels.
The good Samaritan cabbie was rewarded however. The jeweler sent him $10,000, a diamond bracelet and thank you note. The do-gooder cabbie plans to put the money aside for his kids’ education and he gave the bracelet to his wife.
"Everyone wants money, but it is not right to destroy someone else’s life to make your own life."
And that’s why he’s driving a taxi and not the head of a David Brooks company.
