Just two days after 9/11, President Bush
promised at least $20 billion for the city to recover and rebuild. But
what happened to it? Did it go to those who needed help? Or did some of
it line the pockets of the wealthy and the well-connected?Today, the Daily News Investigative Team
begins an in-depth examination of the federal government’s Sept. 11
disaster recovery program for New York City.
This was in yesterday’s Daily News. Definitely worth a read. Find out what happened to the $20 billion in aid that Bush promised to deliver to NYC. Let’s just say that, as usual, the rich got richer and the poor were left to fend for themselves.
