One of the funniest motherfuckers to ever grace the stage died yesterday at the age of 65. Richard Pryor was more than just a comedian, he was one of, if not the first comedian to get on stage and say "shit is fucked up". Pryor took his pain, his fuck-ups, his heart and shared them with us and made you laugh your ass off about it.
He was a phenomenon, I realized talking to a few of my friends about Richard Pryor one day, not too long ago, that everyone remembers "the first time they ever heard Richard Pryor". It was like this impact, this guy saying some of the shit you’d only ever thought about.
Pryor paved the way for comedy as we know it today. He was the original. He was truly a comedy legend.
