Bush is holding his end of year press conference, just in case you’re missing it here’s the gist.
"You’re still in grave danger, I am here to protect you. I am taking away your civil liberties in order to protect your civil liberties. It’s not shameful to secretly tap phone calls and circumvent the law, it’s shameful that people know about it now."
Bush has said he’s protecting the civil liberties in the country about 32 times so far.
Bush quote: "I strongly reject the term ‘unchecked power’." Just because I’m circumventing the law, doesn’t mean it’s unchecked. I was sworn in to uphold the law, that’s a check right there. Umm, yeah, I don’t think that’s what they had in mind.
