Toussaint agrees to take steps to get the union back to work.

Live press conference is getting ready to start discussing what if any progress were made overnight.

Start off saying they think they have "some good news for you".

Over the last 48 hours they have met with the TWU and MTA, no agreement has been met.

In the best interest of the public the two sides seem to have agreed to return to the table while the TWU takes steps to return to work.

MTA will not take pension proposal off the table.  But are willing to discuss whether or not they can cut health costs in order to pay for the pension proposal.

The TWU has been recommended to return to work immediately.

From now on there will be a media blackout until the two sides have reached an agreement.  Neither side will be allowed to talk to the media until they reach a deal.  (No more posturing for either side).

Toussaint is taking the proposal back to the executive board to vote on whether or not they want to go back to work and move forward with the talks.  The mediators aren’t answering any questions about the negotiations, a complete media blackout is now in effect concerning TWU and MTA negotiations.

Toussaint will be taking a "positive recommendation" to the executive board to end the strike.

The mediators have been meeting separately with the two sides, the MTA and TWU have not been meeting face to face.

Basically the mediators are saying that the media is instigating and or starting shit between the two sides, so now you get nothing.  Media blackout.

The media is spinning it right not that for all intents and purposes the strike is over, but what the fuck do they know, they’re so shady the’ve been blacked out from the negotiations anyway.
