Welcome back transit workers. Let’s not forget, that even though some of us may have been inconvenienced the past few days, that these people were standing up for not only their rights, but the rights of future TWU members. And while we may have been inconvenienced, they were out of work losing two days for every one day they were off, fighting for what they believed was right.
Perhaps more of us should be fighting for. While corporations cry poverty and the rising cost of health care and try to take more from their employees, executives in America are making now more than ever. Maybe instead of taking 1/5th of everyone’s salary to pay for health care, you could take 1/5th of the CEO’s salary and pay for everyone’s health care.
