The last sign you see as you leave Brooklyn to cross the Verrazano Bridge is the famous "Fuhgeddaboudit!" sign. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz started a contest in April to coin a new phrase to represent Brooklyn and improve tourism. The bottom line? Brooklyn is too diverse to be represented by just one phrase says Markowitz, he couldn’t pick just one winner.
Here are a few new Brooklyn slogans you might see on a sign near you.
"Brooklyn: Bridge to the World": Sort of obvious, but very PC.
"Brooklyn: The Tenth Planet": Should boost our chances of landing Star Trek conventions.
"Do It In Brooklyn": Umm, yeah…well I guess that one’s sort of obvious. Sex is better in Brooklyn.
Some slogans we liked but didn’t make it include:
"Brooklyn: Hey, at least it’s not the Bronx"
"Brooklyn: We’re not all gentrified…yet!"
"Brooklyn: Strollers, Churches and Bars oh my!"

The Tenth Planet is a very clever slogan for Brooklyn. Cute and clever. I understand that is was written by Janis Feldman, a proud Brooklynite!!
