Jessica Simpson opened last night’s People’s Choice Awards with “These Boots Were Made for Walking” but we hear the highlight of the night was when George Lopez, (who as any sort of live host is so boring we usually want to jump out a window) came on stage and announced, “The producers wanted me to apologize that Nick Lachey couldn’t be here tonight but we had enough seat fillers.” Lopez then started ripping on how bad “The Dukes of Hazzard” was, oddly enough, we would have thought Lopez would have had some sort of hand in writing it judging by the trailers we saw for it.
The best part is, the entire time Lopez was cracking wise, they kept the camera focused on Simpson. Her mother giggled at the Nick joke, but rumor has it, it looked like Papa Joe was none too happy with the whole scenario. Some say he even stopped ogling his daughter’s breasts and refused to look at them for five whole minutes. Creep.
