COPENHAGEN (MGB) - A prominent Danish newspaper says it is going to hold a competition for cartoons on the Crusades in response to a prominent Iranian newspaper’s announcement that it will hold a competition for cartoons on the Holocaust, which itself was a response to European newspapers publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in response to protests over the cartoons being commissioned and published by a Danish newspaper, which commissioned the cartoons in response to a perceived lack of things in this world for Muslims to get really pissed off about.
The cartoons touched a raw nerve, partly because most Muslims forbid any illustration of the prophet for fear of idolatry and partly because several drawings portrayed Muhammad as a man of violence, which, although true, doesn’t fit with the current Islam PR campaign titled, “Islam: Fatwah I’m Talking About!!
