Eva Longoria, who is dating San Antonio Spurs’ star Tony Parker, may be cool with dating a biracial man, her mother may even be cool with it, but her grandmother definitely isn’t cool with it.
Longoria tells Allure magazine that she was planning to send her grandmother a San Antonio Spurs calendar so she could see what her boyfriend looked like, but her mother reminded her that not everyone approves of the fact she’s dating a biracial man.
Ok, so we understand that sometimes old people have some fucked up backwards ideas and you can’t teach an old dog new tricks and all of that. But what’s even more shocking is Eva’s reaction to her mom’s request not to send the calender.
Longoria recalls, “She said, ‘You can’t give grandma a calendar. She doesn’t know Tony’s black.’ I said, ‘We’ll just tell her he’s French.’”
French? I’d be more ashamed of dating a French guy than a biracial guy. Parker, who was born in Belgium and grew up in France and is the son of Tony Parker Sr., who was an African-American professional basketball player and Pamela Firestone, a Dutch model. The son of a black pro basketball player and a Dutch model? He’s like super genetically perfect.
