If the 4/5 train is the way you get to work, you may want leave your house a little earlier for the next couple of months. Track work on the 4 and 5 subway lines is expected to cause delays of up to 10 minutes during rush hour for the next seven weeks.

During the work, subways must run at slower speeds over temporary tracks. Because fewer trains will be able to travel per hour, riders will experience crowding and delays.

Has WNBC ever seen the 4 and 5 lines during rush hour? They’re by far already the most packed trains down there, it’s already vicious. We can only imagine what seven weeks of delays and even more crowding will start to do to the nerves of the straphangers on the 4/5 lines.
