Formerly powerful Republican set to spread the power of hope

WASHINGTON, DC (MGB) - Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX), at one time one of the most powerful and feared politicians in Washington, announced this morning that he will give up his seat so that he may travel from town to town helping those in need and putting right what once went wrong.
In a videotaped message that was shown this morning on stations in his home district, DeLay said that he had recently come to an epiphany and realized that his life was the antithesis of what he had always strived to be.
“First, let me state for the record that I have done nothing wrong. I have always cherished honor, truth, justice, morality and most of all compassion, but now, as I look back on my tenure in the House of Representatives, I see that at some point, I let all of that go in favor of greed, lies, drugs, and sexual relations with numerous partners of both sexes from all ages and backgrounds. But I would like to reiterate, I have done nothing wrong.
