Katie Couric is risking her TV legacy to leave NBC’s Today show and anchor The CBS Evening News — as a new poll shows that people would rather watch her in the morning.
Asked if they prefer to see Couric in her longtime role as anchor of Today or on the evening news, 49% chose mornings and 29% said evening news, an AP-TV Guide poll found.
For some reason I’ve always had an almost unnatural dislike for Katie Couric (actually on second thought I think it’s a pretty normal dislike for her). Maybe it’s the fact that no matter how many “happy” pills my doctor gives me I can never quite get the true pep Couric always seems to have.
While most people polled by far said they preferred Couric in the morning, the poll suggested now was a good time to make this particular jump since every good network news anchorman of the past quarter century has either died or retired. Does anyone even know the name of any of the network anchors right now?
