First things first. We’ve made a couple additions this week at BlogNYC and are extremely happy to have them on board.

Charlie is a contributing writer (and has been with us longer than a week but this is like the first official introduction) who mostly spends his time coming up with fake news and ways to get Buffy the Vampire Slayer back on the air. Born in a small town in Ohio Illinois, he made his way to the Big Apple to “fulfill his dream” of becoming an actor only to find out after seven different “casting calls”, some in very seedy bars in Chelsea, that Straight Eye for the Queer Guy wasn’t even a real show, just a way for deranged casting director’s to see poor Charlie’s linus. Claudia came on board as the BlogNYC intern and is absolutely amazing. If anyone ever needs an employee who is hard working, cheerful and 100% competent and fortunately not quick to pull the trigger on a sexual harrassment lawsuit, then Claudia is definitely your woman. Seriously, she jumped right into the job head first and has been a tremendous help around here.

Jim Mendrinos came on as our sports guy and has been a terrific addition as well. Jim has been writing for a long time and wrote the book on The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Comedy Writing. Literally. Actually, while I’ve never personally read it myself, I’ve heard that it’s actually required reading for the entire writing staff at the Bill O’Reilly show. Leslie Thomason is one of the funniest chicks on the planet. She’s our American Idol correspondent and you’ll be seeing her around keeping you up on all of Paula’s drunken antics as well as which broke hillbilly gets turned into a superstar overnight…or over six months, how long are the seasons again? Originally from NYC Leslie has infiltrated Texas in a highly classified program to bring it down from the inside. You can find Leslie at her MySpace blog here.
