The warehouse fire in Greenpoint this morning turned out to be a nine alarm fire with over 400 firefighters showing up to try and put it out. The fire, which was already enourmas by the time the firefighters arrived, ended up spreading over a seven warehouse complex.
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta said that aside from 9/11 it was by far the largest fire the city has seen in over a decade. Both he and the mayor said that they believe there may have been foul play involved.
