Unlike Paris Hilton who thinks cancer is hot, New York City doesn’t. For a while now NYC has taken a proactive stance in trying to help get people off cigarettes. The logic being, that the cost of supplying people with free nicotine patches is still cheaper than paying for thier healthcare after years of smoking.
If you’re interested in getting your free six-week supply of patches just call the 311 hotline and tell them you want to quit smoking. You better hurry though, the offer is limited to the first 35,000 eligible residents who call.
