Remember not too long ago when Bush was asked in a press conference about any mistakes he had made and what he might do differently if he had the chance and he responded by saying he couldn’t think of any mistakes he’d made?

Well this almost tops that.

Asked in an Oval Office interview with the German newspaper Bild to name the “most wonderful moment” of his presidency, President Bush came up with a fish story.

“I don’t know, it’s hard to characterize the great moments. They’ve all been busy moments, by the way,” Bush said, apparently trawling his memory for good times since 2001.

“I would say the best moment was when I caught a 7-1/2-pound largemouth bass on my lake,” he said eventually.

Bush appeared to be joking about the catch, especially since a 7-plus pounder wouldn’t wow any angler in the Lone Star state. A largemouth bass has to be more than 15 pounds to crack the top 50 biggest catches, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Nothing about dealing with a completely united country after 9/11. Nothing about his wife or his kids. Nothing about anything he’s had the opportunity to as one of the most powerful leaders in the world. Nope, catching a little ass largemouthed bass his his “most wonderful moment” as President.

If someone wrote a character this stupid it would be rejected as too unrealistic.
