The State Supreme Court will begin hearing a case this week to decide whether or not to allow same-sex marriages. Mayor Bloomberg has said that if the State rules in favor of issuing the license that NYC will start performing same-sex marriages.
The shocking thing is that Bloomberg, who has already been widely criticized for appealing a lower court ruling that said same-sex marriages were legal, has gone one step further saying that even if the court rules against the marriages, he will work along with City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and help lobby the State Legislature to make gay marriage legal.
Finally, NYC catches up with Vermont.
