468-0605smallfront.jpg Finally, we can rest easy, NYC is free from the threat of terrorism. Just knowing that the federal government is cutting back all our terror funding is a huge step forward. What the Bush administration is trying to tell us is that we are finally safe again. They told us ground zero was safe immediately after 9/11 and look how good that turned out.

For example, while the per capita spending in the city will drop to $2.99 from $3.22, the spending in Wyoming will increase to $9.72 from $9.77, Schumer said.

How are they spending all that extra money you might ask. Glad you did.

• A $30,000 trailer for the October Mushroom Festival in Madisonville, Tex.

• $160,000 for plasma TVs in Montgomery County, Md.

• $36,200 to block terrorists from raising money in Kentucky bingo halls.

“What we have is a coast-to-coast smorgasbord of pork-barrel spending for homeland security,” said Weiner (D-Brooklyn, Queens).

I think we all know that while NYC doesn’t have any “targetable landmarks” America’s enemies have tried for years to bring the Madisonville, Texas Mushroom Festival to its knees, while mocking the residents of Montgomery County, MD for not having plasma TVs after raising money to support those operations in bingo halls in Kentucky.
