Kids are wetting themselves thanks to a new ringtone, making its way over via Britain, that is designed to be audible by only young ears and not people over 80 apparently. It’s based on the condition known as presbycusis, or aging ear which is apparently the “most common sensory abnormality in the world,” according to Dr. Rick A. Friedman, an ear surgeon and research scientist at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles.
The ringtone is in a high pitched frequency that is supposed to be out of the range of adult ears to hear. As we grow older we lose more and more of our ability to hear high pitched sounds. So for all of those 5-year-olds looking to get that secret text message past your grandparents, this ringtone is for you!
Haven’t these kids ever heard of fucking vibrate? And it seems like it might be a dead-giveaway, even if they don’t hear the ringtone, when you I don’t know say, check the text message.
Here’s the ringtone in mp3 format, I didn’t have a problem hearing it but then again, I’ve always been told I have amazingly young ears for my age.
