UPDATE: Apparently the power is back…for now.

The very same day that ConEd boasted about getting the last of its customers in Queens back up and running, the AP has reported that 16,000 people in Staten Island are now without power. And guess what? ConEd, once again, has no idea why.

Ten thousand customers in Staten Island lost power Wednesday, Con Edison said.

Those affected live in the Dongan Hills and New Dorp neighborhoods. A Con Ed spokesman said the cause of the outage wasn’t yet known.

The Associated Press reported that the outage affected 16,000 residents.

So ConEd moved the blackout from Queens to Staten Island. Way to go.
