Why don’t we just start calling it like it is. We have federal hate crime laws to punish people who commit crimes based on bigoted ideals and we stand idly by while our government discriminates against people based on who they sleep with.
In NYC we just had the case of Nicholas “Fat Nick” Minucci getting a 15-year prison sentence for committing a hate crime. What was the crime? Bashing someone over the head with a baseball bat but that wasn’t the hateful part, he called him a n—er while he did it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I hate me some racist crackers as much as the next guy, but you can call me any name you want in lieu of bashing me in the head with a baseball bat.
So as a society we’re cool with a guy getting 15 years for using the “n” word while he bashed a guys head in and at the same time we’re cool with the government regulating what people can and cannot do based on hateful, bigoted, moralistic principles? I just want to get this straight.
What part of freedom is so difficult to understand? You can’t not serve someone in a restaurant because of their color. You can’t refuse to sell an airline ticket to a couple because they happen to be of the same sex. Why are we standing by watching our government continually shaft people based on that very same principle? God doesn’t hate fags, he hates you.
