nyc-heat-wave.jpg Today is actually supposed to be hotter than yesterday. ConEd reported that during yesterday’s triple digit heat NYC used a record amount of power despite the city’s efforts to conserve energy.

To celebrate the heat wave and the record setting temps in NYC the Senate voted 71-25 to open 8.3 million acres of federal waters in the central Gulf of Mexico to oil and gas drilling. We must have more oil to cool us down! Thank God our government has its finger on the pulse of what is going on in the world today. You’re doing a heckuva job Senate-y!
