Which came first? Justin Gignac, the advertising creative that came up with the idea to box and sell NYC garbage or the idiot who thought, “hey, I think I’ll buy me a box of garbage”. Another one of life’s mysteries that has no real answer.
What’s even more mind-blowing than the fact that Gignac is able to sell the garbage is that depending on where he picks up the garbage, he charges premium prices. Garbage that he collected outside of Yankee Stadium on opening day can go for up to $100. And you thought all garbage was the same.
It does make me wonder though how much I could get for this urinal cake that Derek Jeter peed on once. Now that’s marketing genius!
