Ann Curry’s future neighbors on the UWS are accusing her of being a selfish bitch when it comes to remodeling her four-story $2.9 million townhouse. Curry, an NBC Today show anchor, and her husband who bought the townhouse on W.71st St. in November of 2003 have been renovating it and making their neighbor’s lives a living hell according to court papers.
Curry’s neighbors are suing her for $915,000 in compensatory and punitive damages. Things have been so bad that one neighbor was forced to move out of her home of 25 years.
“Wherever [in the world] there’s a disaster, [Curry] goes to show that people care,” said one of the plaintiffs, Dr. John Lee. “She’s got a disaster on W.71st St., and she’s not doing anything about it.”
The list goes on and on, from falling bricks destroying greenhouses to lack of a proper drainage pipe soaking a shared wall to an extension that placed a window a few inches from her neighbor’s master bedroom window.
Curry of course claims that they’re all liars and they just want to make money off her. It seems that the Buildings Department would disagree. A spokesman said there have been multiple complaints about Curry’s home, and that a stop work order was issued on July 31.
