Brian McGrath has put together a very cool interactive map called Transparent New York. It let’s you see Manhattan bit by bit. You can see what office buildings were built from 1893-1916 or where exactly the Dutch settlement was located. It shows parks, piers, subways and highways. All of which can be turned on or off and overlayed with other information. It’s a pretty nifty little application.
