allison.arieff.jpg Dwell EIC Allison Arieff resigned from her post last week as the magazine announced its plan to reorganize the entire staff. While Arieff would have been allowed to keep her title as EIC she would have been forced to give up her other, vaunted title, of HNIC.

“I feel that there was a disconnect between the stated mission, bringing modern design to everyone, and the workings of things,” Ms. Arieff said. She said that high admission fees for the conference in September, where the cheapest ticket costs $375, was proof of that disconnect.

Arieff says she plans on carrying on that philosophy by creating a new magazine that focuses on creative design using only hacky sacks, frisbees and love.
