UPDATE: Jessica Simpson fires Rob Shuter. Immediately after we published this, this landed in our inbox. It looks like it didn’t take long for Jessica to take our advice and give Shuter the boot.
A few days ago we pointed out Jessica Simpon’s publicist’s answer to the backlash of walking away from the VMA’s with hundreds of thousands of dollars in free stuff.
“People like her don’t really need these things because they already have everything,” Shuter said of the free schwag. Is that like anti-damage control?
“Jessica doesn’t need to buy beauty products, she’s already way more beautiful than any of you could ever hope to be. She’s going to donate the beauty products to poor, ugly children around the country.”
Shuter’s industry brilliance doesn’t stop there, apparently he’s also the one responsible for leaking the false story that Jessica Simpson and John Mayer were dating. Which is all well and good, but you might want to let your client in on the little secret before she goes on TV and completely denies everything.
“I am actually not dating John Mayer,” the ex-Newlywed told The View. “He’s my friend. I’ve known him for years.”
We can’t wait until he spins her next cancelled concert date as a severe herpes outbreak.
