This morning was the first day of classes for the new British International School of New York, a new private school in Manhattan which is also the city’s only school centered on Britain’s national curriculum. It’s the school everyone has been buzzing about, at least everyone who actually cares about private schools in Manhattan which typically means rich, white people.
We have it on good source though that while some of the students may be British and sent there for a proper British education, many more students are bad little American kids who weren’t accepted into their first private school of choice. Perhaps, being a new school, BISNY wasn’t too picky about their first student body.
Nine-year-old Max Bloch, who hails from Brighton, England, seemed unfazed by the first day of school and said he was looking forward to “math, literacy, whatever we do.”
And beatings. Many, many beatings. Welcome to NYC Max.
