A waitress has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the trendy Japanese/French fusion spot in TriBeCa, Megu and it’s parent company Food Scope America.
In papers filed in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court, Southward says that starting in the spring of 2005, Endo began “to degrade, humiliate and intimidate (her) by continually touching Southward’s breasts, buttocks, thighs and hips with his own hands or with various kitchen utensils.”
Endo also often made sexual remarks about and to Southward in the kitchen, a place she couldn’t avoid as a server, her court papers say.
At Megu’s 2005 year-end holiday party at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, Southward had a drink and didn’t feel well and Herman led her outside to a car and sexually assaulted her, her court papers say.
When Southward realized what was happening, her papers say, she was in the backseat of a moving car with Herman “pulling off part of her dress” and “mauling her breasts and other exposed body parts.”
Megu is denying all of the charges and made a statement saying, “The person that Ms. Southward has made criminal allegations against was promptly fired by Megu and has not been an employee since the alleged incident.”
“That case is currently in the criminal court system and since it did not take place at Megu or involve any Megu manager, Megu is not involved in the proceedings.”
What is it about head chefs that make them some of the creepiest people on the planet? Aside from actual restaurant managers of course.
