Having remedied poverty at home, U.S. organizations spread the wealth.

The government of Libya reached an agreement on Tuesday with One Laptop Per Child, a nonprofit United States group developing an inexpensive, educational laptop computer, with the goal of supplying machines to all 1.2 million Libyan schoolchildren by June 2008.

Listen, we’re all for feeding the poor across the world, it’s the right thing to do. But we’re also pretty sure there are a lot of children here in the United States, Canada and Mexico that don’t have their own laptops. What do we tell those kids? Go eff themselves?

Wasn’t this guy an asshole “terrorist” like a year ago? Now we’re handing out laptops to every kid in Libya?
