Tishman Speyer Buys Stuyvesant Town For $5.4B

MetLife, the owner of Peter Cooper Village and Stuyvesant Town says it has sold the Manhattan apartment complex to the real estate company Tishman Speyer for $5.4 billion. The sale was announced hours after MetLife opened up the second round of bidding.

The tenants of Stuyvesant Town were bidding on the property to in an effort to assure the homes remain rent controlled.
