A man was killed yesterday while trying to board the uptown C train by climbing over the gate between cars. Witnesses say the train was crowded and the man tried to climb over the gate between the cars.
When the train started to pull out of the station the man became wedged between the car and the platform. He was dragged about 50 feet.
“It was an accident,” said a sobbing witness, Kristina Kremer, at the 14th St. station in Manhattan. “It wasn’t intentional. He was trying to get on the train. He was like, ‘Oh, my God!’”
The man has not yet been identified pending notification of relatives.
