Mayor Bloomberg and Chancellor Joel Klein were given top honors by Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government for their role in turning around NYC’s public schools.
Mayor Bloomberg and Schools Chancellor Joel Klein were praised on the who’s who list of the nation’s pacesetters, along with billionaire investment guru Warren Buffett and retired U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
The Bloomberg-Klein tandem was lauded for improving public schools by stamping out “cronyism and entrenched interests” and putting the focus back on students since the mayoral takeover of the education system.
Now, if Bloomberg would just pass a law that would require all students to travel in one soundproofed subway car, we’d nominate him for a statue ourselves.
A+ for Mike, Joel [Daily News]
