Boy’s father says he didn’t realize he wouldn’t be getting any of that money, wants son back
Only Madonna would visit an African country with a million orphans and leave with a kid that has a parent. You can only keep an attention whore down for so long.
Madonna will be on Oprah tomorrow talking about her adoption and pleading her case to the court of public opinion. So not only does she not meet the normal residency requirements for Malawian adoption, she “adopts” the one kid there with a parent.
Maybe the kid was staying in an orphanage because the father couldn’t afford to take care of him. If that was the case, it doesn’t really help matters for rich, white folks to fly in, ignore the root of the problem, and snatch up the first kid that catches their eye regardless of whether or not they still have parents who are alive.
We’re sure there were plenty of other completely parentless kids there who were just as eager to be adopted. The more we read about this story, the more it angers us. It’s not like you’re picking out an outfit at Barney’s Madge.
