A New York City Department of Sanitation worker was caught by a restaurant’s surveillance camera getting out of his car, walking over to four flourescent light bulbs that were leaning against an el train beam, and tossing them into the street.
An hour later someone from the DOS ticketed three businesses with $100 tickets each for improper disposal of the lights.
In the sanitation worker’s defense, tossing fluorescent bulbs onto a street and watching them break is nearly irresistible fun. Of course, ticketing the business the bulbs came from an hour later is a total dick move.
Allen Sy, the restaurant’s co-owner, who is apparently a Valley Girl said, “It’s like crazy. You can’t believe like this happening in our city.” Like that totally bummed us out you know.
