The new ad numbers are in for the local rags and it’s not good news for the Daily News. When the figures come out next Monday from the Audit Bureau of Circulations it will show that the Daily News while increasing it’s circulation is reporting a 4% decrease in advertising revenue.
The Post on the other hand is set to report a 5% increase in ad revenue, continuing it’s upward trend to gain ground on the Daily News.
The News still has about double the amount of ad revenue of the Post but these are the first numbers that have been turned in since the Daily News hired Chief Executive Marc Kramer who left the New York Times in January to try and end the News’ slide.
