An NYPD detective with 22-years on the force almost saw his career end abruptly after he tested positive for marijuana during a random drug test. That is, until his wife admitted to spiking his meatballs with marijuana so he would fail the drug test and get kicked off the force because she was afraid he’d die in the line of duty.
Anthony Chiofalo, whose brother was a firefighter that died on 9/11, is a member of the NYPD’s elite Joint Terrorism Task Force, failed a random drug test after traces of marijuana were found in his system.
Chiofalo’s wife confessed to the IAB saying, “I’m afraid he’s going to get killed.”
Earlier this week a judge ruled that Chiofalo should be reinstated although it’s up to police commissioner Ray Kelly to make the final decision.
In other news, invitations requests for Thanksgiving at the Chiofalo house have skyrocketed this week.
