Stiff Wind, Sharp Turn Attempt Caused Lidle’s Plane Crash A stiff wind, coupled with the pilot’s attempt at a sharp turn, forced the small airplane carrying Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle off course and into a New York City high-rise on Oct. 11.
Sounds like one of those unfortunate circumstances that’s just pure bad luck.
