In a case right out of CSI, actress Adrienne Shelly’s death which was staged to look like a suicide was discovered to actually be murder.
At the time of her death, it was reported that the police were investigating anonymous sneaker prints found inside of Shelly’s bathtub, where her body was found.
In a bizarre twist yesterday cops arrested 19-year-old Diego Pillco, a construction worker working on the apartment downstairs from Shelly. Pillco claims that he was worried that he would be arrested and deported after Shelly made a noise complaint about the construction work going on.
He said he followed the 40-year-old married mom of a toddler into her apartment and knocked her unconscious, sources said.
Pillco told police he panicked and staged a suicide - using a bedsheet to string up the petite actress by her neck from a shower curtain rod, sources said.
Pillco was arrested and charged with second degree-murder.
