On his radio show this morning Bloomberg was talking about the raises that the City Council gave itself. He also mentioned that the borough president’s pay was going to $160,000 from $135,000, saying that they were “really low paid compared to the amount of work they do.”
Except one.
Saying he thought that some of them were really good, he added: “There’s one that just all he does is rush to the steps of City Hall to have a press conference, doesn’t really do anything. The others really work very hard and they deserve a raise.”
So who’s the slacker? Our guess is that it’s Scott M. Stringer of Manhattan who seems to hold a press conference every time the wind changes directions. We think he may have a little mayor-envy. Being the borough president of Manhattan does not the Mayor of NYC make you.
