Gov. Pataki, who is about three weeks away from not being governor anymore, oversaw the opening of a another $16 million section of the Hudson River Park yesterday.
“I’m going to be haunting the Gansevoort Peninsula waiting for my day on the shores of the sands of the Hudson River,” Pataki said at a ribbon cutting for the northern Chelsea section of the park.
When finished the HRP will boast 550-acres of greenway including Pier 66, which juts 500 feet into the Hudson and features a 26-foot diameter water wheel; the historic B&O Railroad float bridge; slips to launch kayaks and sailboats and three blocks of landscaping designed to attract birds and butterflies.
