Mel Gibson allegedly fathered Carmel Sloane, 29, after he picked up her mother, Marilyn, while she was hitchhiking in Australia in 1976. After one hot and heavy evening in the back of his truck after his shift at an orange juice factory, Marilyn, who claimed that was the night of Carmel’s conception, never saw him again.
Mel Gibson denies the claim. His words are the greatest evidence he has that it is untrue. He says, through his laughter “Why, at 29, would someone come forth…what’s to stop everyone from claiming?” A DNA test might be a more appropriate defense in this case.
