Brittany Murphy has been doing some heavy research for her upcoming role as a sex worker addicted to crack. She explained her character as being, “bipolar, so she self-medicated for that reason and had a lot of high highs and low lows.”
To prepare for the role and really get a good idea what chemical dependance feels like, Brittany watched countless hours of film and talked to counselors. Who needs to smoke crack to understand the addiction when you can just talk to other people who have never used the drug? An artist truly passionate about her craft would’ve, at least, smoked a little bit in a dark alley after turning tricks.
