Britney Spears was named the “Most Controversial Ceclebrity of the year 2006” by the Showbiz Tonight edition of CNN Headline News.
This is a considerable honor considering she was up against such fierce heavy hitters. She beat out Michael Richards (a flagrant racist), Mel Gibson (yet, another, flagrant racist), Lindsay Lohan (for carrying the AA handbook into a club) and Naomi Campbell (a woman with a compulsive desire to throw her cell phone at people who work for her).
Among some of the reasons cited for her victory are:
1. Driving with infant son, Sean Preston, on her lap
2. Having social services visit her house for a bump on Sean Preston’s head
3. Filing for divorce from Kevin Federline weeks after giving birth to Jayden James
4. Hanging out with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan
And we all thought she was just a little dumb. Little did we know that she really had her eye on the prize.
