MTA boss Elliot “Lee” Sander is going to take on the role of the “cool” dad and get down with the kids as he spends the next three months riding or crossing every subway, bus, train, bridge and tunnel.
Sander said, “”You cannot create - or get people to buy into - a vision from behind a desk.”
In an attempt to prove himself, Sander even started his job a week early when he lodged a complaint about the toilet facilities being gross. He has a long year ahead of him if he is going to get upset about that; doesn’t he know that nasty bathrooms are what make New York unique?
MTA workers brace themselves for an inundation of comments like, “you should probably try to smile at customers more.” We give him three weeks before they beat him up.
